I read this the other day. And having watched Tivo for awhile, I’ve wondered when advertisers were going to get wired to the fact that we are whizzing by the commercials but we are still “seeing” them.

G.E. remakes ads for DVRs, downloads
General Electric agency BBDO Worldwide has created new content under the banner, “G.E. One Second Theater.” Watched in sequence, the material whizzes by, but when paused, the new content reveals profiles and backstories of the animal characters that appear in G.E.’s environmentally friendly campaign. The characters even have their own MySpace.com pages, including this page for Elli, the elephant star of one of the commercials. The New York Times (free registration)
